Longan fruits cv. ‘Daw’ were packed in plastic boxes covered with polyvinyl (PVC) film (15 µm thickness) or linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) film (10, 15 and 20 µm thickness). All kind of films packaging were not effect on longan peel colour change. The boxes covered with PVC film trended to delay respiration rate of the fruits more than those with LLDPE film and provided the best appearance of the longan and had better overall acceptance during storage. The LLDPE film, however, could delay weight loss compared to PVC film. This incidence was assumingly due to higher osmotic vapor rate of PVC film.
